SPU Khon Kaen Enhances Tourism and Aviation Talent with Real-World Learning Initiative
Sripatum University’s Mid-Year Orientation Empowers Students with Career Insights and SDG-aligned Skills

To align education with industry needs and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Sripatum University Khon Kaen’s College of Tourism and Hospitality launched its “Mid-Year Orientation Project” for 1st to 3rd-year students in the 1/2567 academic term. This transformative program empowers students from hotel management, MICE, and aviation programs with real-world knowledge, skill development, and professional exposure — connecting directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The program’s immersive design brings together alumni, faculty, and industry experts in an open forum, helping students visualize career pathways and develop vocational skills. By focusing on short courses and real-world training (SDG 4.3.3), the initiative enhances students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practice. Moreover, it bridges classroom learning with off-campus outreach activities (SDG 4.3.4), making the learning experience inclusive and community-engaged.

A significant aspect of the program lies in its direct preparation for employment in key economic sectors (SDG 8.4.1) like tourism and aviation — industries that are central to Thailand’s post-pandemic recovery and ASEAN integration. The event also champions multi-stakeholder collaboration (SDG 17.2.1) by involving private-sector professionals, fostering SDG-driven academic-industry partnerships that prepare students for meaningful contributions in their chosen fields.

This program exemplifies how SPU Khon Kaen transforms conventional academic orientation into a platform for national and global impact, reinforcing its role as a leader in sustainable, career-focused education.
