Foundational Math Meets Smart Supply Chain Training in a Future-Focused, Student-Centered Learning Experience
Main Article:
To equip first-year logistics students with the mathematical skills essential to succeed in their studies and future careers, Sripatum University Khon Kaen launched the “Basic Mathematics Preparation for Logistics and Supply Chain Management” project. The initiative strategically addresses gaps in numerical proficiency while aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Innovation), and SDG 17 (Partnerships).
Conducted in November 2024, the program utilized a hybrid digital learning model:
Video Lessons via YouTube on key topics like averages, medians, standard deviation, linear equations, and geometry.
Pre- and Post-Tests assessed learning outcomes and monitored performance improvement.
Google Forms were used for feedback collection and formative assessment.
More than 100 students participated, and the data-driven results showed significant learning gains in statistical concepts and problem-solving. Despite some challenges—especially in topics like standard deviation and frequency distribution—SPU applied the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) model to analyze and improve teaching strategies continuously.
Conclusion:
This initiative exemplifies how a university can bridge academic preparedness and professional readiness through innovative, student-centered learning. SPU Khon Kaen stands as a model of how educational institutions can drive SDG 4 forward using technology, pedagogy, and actionable feedback.
