SPU Khon Kaen Breaks Barriers with English for Logistics: A New Digital Toolkit for SDG-Ready Graduates
Subtitle:
Innovative E-Book and YouTube Learning Boosts English Skills for Logistics Students, Advancing Global Competency
Main Article:
In response to the growing global demand for English proficiency in supply chain operations, Sripatum University Khon Kaen’s Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain launched an innovative project: “Developing English Media for Logistics and Supply Chain Management.” The program’s goal was to enhance students’ understanding of English terms used in logistics, bridging the gap between academic language learning and real-world application—key to achieving SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work), and SDG 17 (Partnerships).
Conducted in late 2024, the project featured:
A student-created E-Book containing logistics-specific vocabulary and explanations aligned with the LSM11167 course.
YouTube learning videos used as core instructional media.
Pre- and post-assessments via Google Forms to measure improvement.
A full PDCA cycle to evaluate and continuously improve content, especially pronunciation practice.
The results were outstanding: Over 85% of students reported increased confidence in using logistics English, with a satisfaction score averaging 4.27 out of 5. Plans are already in place to expand the project with interactive pronunciation tools and gamified features.
Conclusion:
SPU Khon Kaen continues to lead the way in equipping students with practical, SDG-aligned competencies. By turning logistics vocabulary into digital learning experiences, the university ensures students can thrive in both local and international professional settings.
