SPU Students Join International AYLEP Program to Champion Youth Leadership and Global SDGs

Three outstanding SPU students from the Business English for Communication program represented Sripatum University, Khon Kaen Campus, in the prestigious Asian Youth Leaders Empowerment Program (AYLEP). The initiative, jointly hosted by Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, aimed to cultivate future leaders equipped with language, leadership, and project management skills to address pressing community and global challenges.

Participating students engaged in cross-border collaboration, cultural exchange, and real-world problem-solving, directly advancing SDG 4.1.1 by applying English communication skills in academic and practical contexts. The program also mirrored SDG 8.4.1, fostering teamwork and professional readiness akin to extended work placements. Most significantly, AYLEP embodied SDG 17.2.1, strengthening regional partnerships with NGOs and governments to support sustainable development policies.

Beyond competition, the program immersed participants in diverse learning experiences: discussion groups, field visits, cultural performances, and a project pitching competition. These activities not only built global networks but also showcased SPU’s commitment to producing graduates who can thrive in dynamic, multicultural environments while contributing to social progress.

Through AYLEP, SPU reinforced its position as a global education leader, empowering youth to be catalysts of positive change and driving tangible progress across education, economic opportunity, and international collaboration—furthering the university’s mission to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals locally and globally.
